Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, step right up for the Annual Charters Towers Show. Kicking off on the 27th July 2025 and running through to the 29th July, this family-friendly extravaganza is set to be a weekend not to miss.
Sunday is a judging day for dogs, cattle, equestrian, and dairy goats. All are welcome and entry is a gold coin donation. Side show alley is up to the individual vendors discretion. Halls will not be open to the public until 8am Monday morning.

Chief Ring Steward for 2024 is local lady Judy McLachlan who is no stranger to the show ring. Judy has been a very successful E.A. Showjumping Judge and has judged at many shows over the past decade and this year Judy has accepted the chief ring steward’s job for the Charters Towers Show.
Showjumping Judge & Course Designer for 2024 is Graeme Watts from Hatton Vale in Queensland. Graeme is back again for this year’s show and needs no introduction. Graeme’s an accredited Federation Equestrian International & Equestrian Australia Level – 3 judge & course designer. Graeme will also officiating at the Brisbane Exhibition following the Charters Towers Show.
Gail Iskra is the first of our two equestrian show horse judges for 2024. Gail hails from Greenbank south of Brisbane and has judged here in the past. Gail grew up in the pony club ranks then progressed to breeding and training show horses. Gail has proven herself to be a very successful show hack rider at shows, hoty, and other major championships. As a judge Gail has been privileged to have judged some of the best riders, horses and ponies in Australia and New Zealand.
Marie Evans is the second of our two equestrian show horse judges for 2024. Marie hails from Fernvale west of Brisbane and started showing horses at a very young age and was a successful competitor. Marie has been judging show horses and all breeds for many years. Marie has also judged at both state and national level and I think this is the first time she has been to Charters Towers and we welcome her for 2024.
Rob McLachlan a local is our regular equestrian ring announcer and is back again for 2024. Rob was taught the show ring announcing ropes from the man that was the best in the business the late Eric Ormonde. Rob’s also a race caller for various race clubs in North Queensland but at this time of the year has a commitment to several show society’s in North Queensland as their ring announcer. Rob is also an accredited E.A. Show jump Judge & Course Designer.
Scanner: This year with the Off The Track Grand Prix carrying very big prizemoney with $1,000 to the winner, the show committee has decided to have a scanner on site to check each horses microchip number prior to the start of the event.
